ABOUT
Education is a future oriented endeavor. Our responses to the questions of today train a child to respond to the questions of tomorrow.
Educators act for the future.
It was when a beloved student referred to her as “my life coach” that Helena Hadef knew her life’s work was coming to fruition. Whether awakening an appreciation for the power of beautifully crafted words, nurturing the development of innate intelligences, or advocating for educational needs, Helena dedicates heart and mind to bringing out the best in every student whose path she crosses, creating relationships that nurture mind and spirit.
A graduate of Columbia University and The Jewish Theological Seminary, Helena has twice been selected for prestigious fellowships in institutional leadership. Helena has perfected an educational process that she refers to as “Educating for Wisdom” an approach that begins with core value concepts. This reflects her deep-seated belief that educators act for the future. Our responses to the questions of today train a child to respond to the questions of tomorrow. This is the philosophy of the Write Academy
Years of assessing which students will excel in particular academic settings, guiding students in the pursuit of co-curricular enrichment, and coaching students in gaining admissions to selective high schools, it was a natural progression to guide her students through the College Guidance process. Athletes and musicians, scientists and poets, Helena’s students come from public and private schools around the world, each bringing a unique narrative that must be constructed with both clarity and imagination.
The commitment to educating the entire child is at the core of Helena’s Consulting work. Helena has participated in the extensive school accreditation processes, as well as recruitment and fundraising missions. Offering a holistic approach, Helena coaches families on obtaining the right support services for children, and trains teachers in differentiating instruction for multiple intelligences.
Deeply committed to spiritual development as well as intellectual exploration, Helena offers a text-centered educational program in Jewish tradition through her Tzedek School program. Tenets such as charity, compassion, ecological preservation, integrity, justice, responsible leadership and civic duty are the building blocks of the curriculum.
Helena takes deep pleasure in crafting personal Life Cycle Celebrations, making her students part of her extended family.
Helen's greatest creative endeavor is building a family with her husband, Eric. Helena's five children keep her deep in adventures. A lover of sporting games, fairs, theater, and travel, Helena collects stories and friendships, never failing to embrace life’s opportunities.
